The True Artisan Cafe is back and going virtual!

To celebrate the 10th edition of The London Coffee Festival, we’ve been looking back at the first ever True Artisan Cafe session, which was created exclusively for London Coffee Festival and has become an industry favourite in its own right! We’ve re-visited some of the original line-up who took part in the first ever True Artisan Cafe to find out what has changed for them in the last ten years and how they’ve seen the coffee industry change and of course, creating some mouth watering signature drinks to commemorate the occasion! Allpress – The DANI:

(Inspired by the black velvet drink that they do at Sweetings restaurant. A loose interpretation.)

  • 25 ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin
  • 25ml Allpress Good Brew Espresso
  • Guinness
  • Tonic
  • Blood Orange
  • Ice (the more the merrier)

 

Clifton Coffee – Layer Cake Espresso Martini:

  • Dark sugar syrup
  • Triple Sec (source a transparent/clear one)
  • Double Espresso
  • 25ml Tuaca
  • Double Cream
  • Frangelico
  • Cocoa Shavings
  • Orange Zest
  • Ice

 

Grind – Banoffee Pie Espresso Martini:

  • 40ml Grind House Blend Coffee
  • 30ml Discarded Banana Peel Rum
  • 10ml Grey Goose La Vanille
  • 12.5ml Roasted Hazelnut Syrup
  • 50ml Double Cream
  • 15ml Frangelico
  • Ice

 

Nude Coffee Roasters – The Commemorative and Classic Espresso Martini:

  • 50ml Absolut Vanilla Vodka
  • 25ml Kahlua
  • 25ml East Espresso Blend
  • Ice

 

Origin Coffee Roasters – Cornish Cream Tea:

  • 36ml Los Altos Espresso, made with 1:2 ratio
  • 50ml Lime juice
  • 50ml Discarded banana peel rum
  • 10ml Wild strawberry syrup
  • 100ml Oat milk
  • Ice

         ‘Cream Bark’

  • 100ml Oatly whippable cream
  • 1 Vanilla pod

 

Ozone Coffee Roasters – Naturally Cool Brew:

Cold Brew

  • 1 Part India Biodynamic Blamaadi Natural Coffee
  • 4 Parts Cold Filtered Water
    • Mix and leave to brew in the fridge overnight. Filter through a V60 in the morning.

Infused Milk

  • 250ml Milk (Any alternative or low fat milk will work)
  • 25g Dates, roughly chopped
  • 1g Earl Grey Tea
    • Leave to brew over night and pass through a sieve

Simple Syrup

  • 50g Sugar
  • 50g Boiling Water
  • 25g Dried Barberries
    • Mix thoroughly with a whisk until all the sugar has dissolved. For best results leave barberries in overnight.

Drink Construction

  • 80g Ice
  • 50g Cold Brew
  • 60 – 120g Infused Milk
  • 2g Simple Syrup

 

Terrone & Co. Coffee Roasters – “Affogarettto” – The Affogato Corretto!:

  • 1 Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Double Shot of Yirgacheffe Coffee by Terrone
  • A healthy splash of Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
  • Lotus Biscoff crumbs

 

Union Hand Roasted Coffee – The 10:20 Evolution:

  • 18g Union Hand Roasted Evolution Espresso
  • 20ml Whisky (e.g. 10 year aged Glenmorangie )
  • 5ml Chambord
  • 8g Cherry and Balsamic Vinegar Reduction
    • 100g cherries
    • 100ggolden caster sugar
    • 100g boiling water
    • 50g balsamic vinegar
  • 8g Lime Juice
  • Twist of Salt
  • 20g Lemon and Elderflower Kombucha
  • 2 ice cubes

Top Tip: If you like your drink stronger, add in a dash more whisky! If you prefer more clarity, add a dash more kombucha.
