As part of London Coffee Festival Virtual on the 16th April 2021, we’re holding a series of panel discussions with leading experts to discuss a range of topics prevalent in the coffee and hospitality industry today.

We’d love to hear your thoughts and comments about the subjects mentioned so feel free to carry on the conversation over on our Instagram page or let us know if there are any topics you would like us to discuss next.

From April 16th, you will be able to watch:

  • ‘The Lab Panel: Hospitality Entrepreneurs’ with Lore Salas, Founder of ‘Dates & Avocados’; Zoe Lucock, Co-Founder of ‘BOBBY’S’ and ‘Trailer Trash
    • La Marzocco’s Hospitality Entrepreneurs panel returns with a focus on those making waves in food, online education and coffee. Lore Salas will discuss how she has applied her passion for plant based food and recipe creation into a successful online channel via ‘Dates & Avocados’. With more of us engaging with online content than ever before, the launching of her online cooking school ‘Aurea‘ in 2020 allows for some fascinating insights in developing an authentic online business that is fuelled by the shared passion of her followers. Moving offline and into the physical space, Zoe Lucock knows a thing or two about dynamic hospitality. With experience in successful pop-ups like Trailer Trash, through to setting up a  unique and permanent fixture in Bobby’s, during a pandemic no less, we can’t wait to share the stories from these hospitality heroes.

  • ‘The Lab Panel: Performance, Culture and Community’ with Carly Telford, Goalkeeper, Chelsea & England; Professor Graeme Close, expert nutrition consultant to England Rugby, Aston Villa FC, and Head of Sport Nutrition for the European Tour Golf; Alan Murchison, Michelin Star Chef aka Performance Chef.
    • Join us for a cutting-edge panel exploring coffee’s role as a catalyst for performance, culture and community within the realm of professional sports. Caffeine has obvious benefits when it comes to sustained sports performance but with the help of our informed panelists, we will dig deeper into its importance when it comes to sport and performance and analyse the science behind caffeine as a performance enabler. With shared insights from the worlds of Football, Cycling, Rugby and Golf, we are excited to explore how coffee is key in building connections and community within the world of professional sports.

  • ‘The Coffeepreneur: Coffee Business Interview’ with Paul Kelly, General Manager of La Marzocco UK & Ireland
    • Paul Kelly sits down with Ludovic Rossignol-Isanovic, Director of Events at Allegra Events, for an illuminating conversation about the business of coffee and the stories and insights that Paul has picked up since beginning his journey in the world of hospitality. Paul will also share his earliest memories and fondest moments from the past editions of London Coffee Festival itself.

You’ll also be able to find some familiar faces from last year’s Global Coffee Festival with our ‘Social Impact: Careers, Coffee and Community, (RE)visited’ session with Well GroundedThe Feel Good Bakery and Off The Streets. For those who missed our Social Impact studio panel at Global Coffee Festival 2020, you can view it again here.

We are very excited to be able to bring this discussion off the studio couch and visit each social enterprise in-person, to connect with just some of the wonderful faces that form part of their teams. We were also delighted to be able to catch up with Sophia Bayram of Carmen’s Family Coffee House, six months after she joined us for the Hospitality Entrepreneur Panel at Global Coffee Festival, to discuss how the business has operated since opening in 2020 and how being a Well Grounded graduate has provided the tools to establish a community focused coffee business, from the ground up.

You can read a Q&A with some of the team from these social enterprises on the London Coffee Festival Journal.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our panels and episodes!! Be sure to grab your free London Coffee Festival virtual tickers here!
