With most of us spending more time at home, brewing more coffee than ever, we created #thehomeartisantakeover to encourage our Linea Mini and GS3 users to share their best home barista moments on social media to inspire others to get creative with their coffee beans.
With the campaign running throughout April and May, announcing our favourite entries each Sunday. There were four key categories – latte art, coffee-based cocktails, espresso food recipes and an “Out Of The Box” wildcard category. We’ve been blown away by the creative entries from true home artisans across the UK and Ireland.
We were thrilled to announce our overall winner – @ben_r_watts and his 12 year old son, Louie. Louie built his own customised GS3 side panels! And has now launched his own YouTube channel – Barista Boy. It is great to see someone getting interested in speciality coffee at such a young age and we hope our special barista kit full of La Marzocco goodies inspires him further.
We also announced @thejimster.lee as the honourary runner up. His concept trailer for his dream coffee shop showed a lot of creativity. We look forward to 2054 when Jim’s coffee shop opens! Check out the full video here.

Sam Nixon has continued to inspire us with his delicious food recipes incorporating espresso from his Linea Mini. Check out his Instagram to see some incredible recipes including an Italian classic, the tiramisu (you can find the recipe here), homemade Espresso Ice Cream, a Walnut, Coffee and Chocolate Cake (with latte art on top!) and also, a Chilli Con Carne with a hint of espresso to add a depth of flavour.
We also loved @miss_coffee_ninja‘s mouthwatering mocha truffles and @proudmaryslondon home-made waffles with a summer berry compote, espresso mascarpone and edible flowers!
With lots of entries showing us that our morning coffee can also be a wor k of art, it’s always amazing to see the latte art skills of our followers! A special shout out to @miss_coffee_ninja who is hosting virtual coffee workshops to raise money for @suffolk_mind.
The Out Of The Box entries didn’t disappoint either. If you’re looking for coffee inspiration, check out @singhbrews iced mocha, or @davidleeper15‘s espresso recipe for Cast Iron Coffee Roasters, Panama Geisha. @damienhoyland’s “Latte Art Tips with Damo” were also a highlight, from perfecting your milk texture through to tilting your cup for a flawless latte art design.
