Milan’s Design Week is a gathering of the international design community and the place where key product launches happen. The city’s sheer size and heritage remain unparalleled. An estimated half a million people will participate in one manner or another over the course of 6 days.
Milan virtually developed the contemporary furniture industry in the second half of the 20th century and the Salone, established in 1961, has long been considered the ultimate in light of networks of exceptional home-grown design talents and highly skilled artisans who turned Milan into the furniture design and production capital of the world in the post-war era.
In addition to the International Furniture Show taking place at the city’s fairgrounds, the entire city becomes a stage for original design, lifestyle, food, drink, happenings, in every corner, every niche.
