KEXP is more than a radio station; it is an eclectic nonprofit arts organization that serves music lovers, artists, and the broader community over the airwaves, online, and in the streets. KEXP enriches people’s lives by championing music and discovery, with a relentless focus on curatorial excellence. Their vision is a world where music connects and inspires people everywhere.
La Marzocco and KEXP will be embarking on an exciting new partnership in 2016, opening a La Marzocco showroom within KEXP’s expansive new home on the campus of Seattle Center, home of the iconic Space Needle. In the meantime, La Marzocco joined KEXP yesterday in Seattle in their parade marching from the old home (for almost 15 years) to the new home. This happened while John Richard was on air for the radio’s “The Morning Show” (John is KEXP’s Associate Program Director and host/producer of The Morning Show). The very first broadcast in the brand new location occurred at 9:03 GMT in Seattle and at 18:03 in Italy.
Amy Hattemer, KEXP project manager from La Marzocco North America, shared with us some photos featuring: a one last goodbye to the old home, the radio team Kevin Cole, Cheryl Waters, Amy and John Richards (from left to right), the marching crowd, the arrival to the future gathering space of KEXP’s new home … and a glimpse inside the new booth!
