La Marzocco, the world leader in espresso machine innovation since 1927, is pleased to announce on behalf of the La Marzocco International (LLC) Board, the appointment of Guido Bernardinelli as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
“As a long-term pivotal member of the Management team, Guido has been instrumental in developing and executing the company’s strategic goals. This leadership transition represents a significant milestone in advancing La Marzocco’s legacy into the future. This new appointment recognizes Guido’s continued commitment to leadership to La Marzocco. I am confident in his experience, vision, and passion for growing the company. I believe that he will continue to lead and advance our brand, culture and international team,” states Kent Bakke, former La Marzocco International CEO.
After an exploratory trip to Florence in 1978, Bakke began importing La Marzocco espresso machines and developed the market in the United States. For over 40 years, Bakke has championed espresso machine innovation through his role at La Marzocco. He will remain involved as a Board Member and advisor.
Guido Bernardinelli has been working in the coffee industry for over twenty-five years, kicking-off in 1989 in an export business focused on catering equipment. He then began working as a Sales Manager in the US for an Italian coffee machine manufacturer, soon experiencing the fast-pace international specialty coffee scene.
He joined La Marzocco in 2002, from Sales to Marketing Manager; Guido was then designated as La Marzocco Srl’s Managing Director (2009) in Italy to being elected as the current CEO at La Marzocco International (LLC). Ever since his involvement in the company, Guido has been primarily committed to persevering La Marzocco’s heritage and culture, to product development and the opening of branch offices worldwide, while maintaining and fostering the family-like spirit across the globe and addressing the next generation of employees and partners.
“My most respectful and honored feelings go to the board (Linda Ginsburg, Joe Monaghan, Massimiliano Valenti) and longtime friend and mentor, Kent Bakke, for their trust and recognition in appointing me to this role. Mindful of such responsibility, I hope to perpetuate my predecessors’ achievements and foreknowledge of the coffee community,” affirms Guido Bernardinelli.
