The final US leg of the 2017 World AeroPress Champs is having a pitstop in Seattle, so stretch your legs and grab a sandwich before the winner continues en route to Seoul, Korea.
The true beauty of the AeroPress Champs lies in the fact you don’t have to be a barista or work in coffee to enter. The Champs are open to everyone.
The World AeroPress Championship is the coolest coffee competition the world over, and your US leg of this worldwide roadie is this year brought to you by the good people at the World AeroPress Champs (W.A.C) HQ, La Marzocco, and Coffee Supreme, an independent coffee roaster supplying cafes, homes, and offices all across New Zealand and Australia. Team Supreme has been oiling their engine in Seattle for a month, in residency at the La Marzocco Cafe. Why not throw the Americans an AeroPress party while we’re here, they thought.
On the night, rounds of competitors wangle their stick shift into gear to try and extract the best cups they can from the AeroPress, a modest and accessible brewing device. This isn’t your average coffee competition, the AeroPress is for everyone. At the Seattle pitstop, we’ll chuck the Scout in the garage and get the guitar out for the night. Think of it as the best impromptu party at a 24-hour Truck Stop diner you’ve ever been too: free beer, dancing on the counter-top, with someone nodding off in the corner booth and some people making coffee in the corner.
Whatever the reason you’re coming to the US AeroPress Champs, you’re in for a night of it… Press on!
Competitor tickets are sold-out, but if you just want to watch and come party, spectator tickets ($1) are yours for the taking.
