La Marzocco team is happy to share with you the latest press release from our FIA Formula E partners as electric racers pay tribute to Hollywood motorsport icons before the round in Long Beach, also considered to be one of the best specialty coffee places in California.
With the Faraday Future Long Beach ePrix taking place on Saturday, April 2, some of the FIA Formula E Championship star drivers took a trip to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Race winner Lucas di Grassi and his Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport team-mate Daniel Abt were joined by Mahindra Racing’s ex-Formula 1 star Nick Heidfeld and Robins Frijns, who races for Michael Andretti’s team in the all-electric championship.
Pictures were taken with icons such as Steve McQueen, Tom Cruise and Rush director Ron Howard, as the drivers sought out their Hollywood idols’ stars. “Of course I’d seen it before on TV, but it was different to how I’d imagined it,” said Frijns, who was recognised by a Formula E fan as he posed for a photo. “It’s the home race for the team and we hope to have a lot of support here, so it’s a race that I am really looking forward to.” “The US is a very important market, especially California,” said di Grassi. “It’s where the electric car started and where Tesla and Faraday Future is based. For us to be here promoting electric racing in Long Beach, which is a very traditional circuit, it’s a good place to race on, very wide and very well organised. It would be good to have more races in the US, it’s where the innovation is and I’m very happy to be here.”
