La Marzocco, leader in espresso machine innovation and design, congratulates Dale Harris from the UK for winning the 2017 World Barista Championship (WBC);
“Dale is an inspiration for never giving up! After competing for over 7 years, his efforts show that hard work can pay. I feel this recognition will again shine a light on the quality of coffee and baristas from the UK and Ireland as Dale and his coach, 2014 Irish Barista Champion Petesy Williams, have worked so hard together.“ – states Paul Kelly, General Manager at La Marzocco UK.
The company would also like to extend its best wishes to all other competitors for their future endeavors, to the Italian Francesco Masciullo – head barista of the specialty coffee hotspot Ditta Artigianale in Florence – and to his trainer and multi-awarded Francesco Sanapo whom La Marzocco continues to collaborate with to foster coffee quality, the roaster & barista community both in Italy and abroad.
In the aim of providing the tools and platforms to train – and engage with – baristas from around the world, on occasion of the Seoul Café Show, the La Marzocco team established a True Artisan Café at its booth in addition to hosting the pre-World Barista Championship trainings of several national champs (from Canada, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK) at its local La Marzocco Korea showroom and look forward to reconnecting with the industry network soon.
