What a blast of coffee we saw during last weekend’s Amsterdam Coffee Festival at the beautiful booth set-up by the outstanding team, Alleborgh and ESW, who made from the event also an occasion to honor La Marzocco’s 90th Anniversary and gather with partners and friends. For this celebration of good coffee making and drinking, La Marzocco showcased the brand new Auto Brew Ratio configuration of the Strada AV! By introducing electronically advanced integrated scales to the Strada AV, baristas were able to customize the espresso shot and control the extraction by volume, mass or brew ratio.

The ABR version of Strada AV auto-volumetric espresso machine was orchestrated by Lex Wenneker, the Dutch barista who ranked 6th place last year at the World Barista Championship 2016 in Dublin.

From a brewing technology demo and scenographic Coffee Flight Experience by Bocca Coffee to the win-a-Linea-Mini Latte Art competition on the home machine (guided by Nick, current national Latte Art Champ), visitors were ever more engaged with the coffee activities, challenges (including the Dutch AeroPress Competition-see video below!) and parties taking place around the “Westergasfabriek” venue.

An International True Artisan Café also took place, featuring some of the best specialty roasters from Europe behind a customized Linea PB – Auto Brew Ratio model: Café Nation Antwerp, Five Elephant Berlin, Small Batch Coffee Brighton, Taf Coffee Athens.
