Kustom Kulture for the 90th Party in Milan

October 26, 2017 in International

On the occasion of Host 2017, La Marzocco was pleased to present to the public an exhibition of Kustom Kulture objects, made by the custom painter Cisko. Kustom Kuture was born in the post-war USA, when young artists without too many means but with vivid imagination begin to customize cheap cars, removing bumper and other indispensable parts and transforming them into powerful creatures. Everything is tailor-made to get more power in the engines with flashy decorations. These are the years of Von Dutch and Ed “Big Daddy” Roth who used, by innovating it, the technique of pin striping (fine lines graphics) and flaming (flames on the whole piece) signing each piece with their personal signatures like the flying eye of Von Dutch or Rat Fink of Roth. Cisko used the flying eye to decorate the first Kustom Strada for La Marzocco. Like the KK, La Marzocco aims to create more powerful machines in terms of functionality and customization has not only aesthetic value, but also opens up to engineering experimentation. Cisko has been able to combine these shared values through custom painting by bringing decoration with airbrush and brushes from the classic thread to more elaborate designs. The references of the American KK are thus reworked through Italian craftsmanship, merging with the character and the performance of a hand-made by La Marzocco.
