Who knew there was such an energetic movement around the third wave trend in Qatar’s capital city of Doha? In fact, La Marzocco’s Andrea Curtarelli, Area Export Manager for the Middle Eastern countries, recently paid a visit to the modern metropolitan oasis to attend, and contribute, to the three-day specialty coffee event launched by local importer Vanguard with the collaboration of special guest / industry expert and former world brewers cup champion, Stefanos Domatiotis, currently a certified SCA trainer and judge.

A professional yet friendly gathering, the meeting in-showroom was organized for the emerging micro-roasters, baristas, coffee shop owners and technicians of Doha, with insightful theoretical-practical lectures: from a presentation on third wave coffee and specialty café businesses, to espresso basics and brewing methods.

Further more, La Marzocco’s signature True Artisan Café format played a significant role at the coffee break corner throughout the daily agenda of workshops and talks (February 21 – 23)… and the cupping sessions added a deeper level of experience to the event and coffee program.
