Brewing Features
La Marzocco machines offer advanced brewing features that give you greater control over extraction. From pre-brewing to pressure manipulation, these tools help you fine-tune your espresso. In the app, select your machine and navigate to the “MACHINE” section in settings. Choose the brewing feature you want to enable, then adjust the timing to your preference.
PRE-BREWING
Pre-Brewing introduces a small amount of water to the brew chamber, followed by an adjustable pause in brewing. Pre-Brewing allows for a softer introduction of water before the desired pressure is reached. Pre-brew on/off times are adjustable on the La Marzocco app.
PRE-INFUSION
Pre-Infusion is the continuous introduction of water at a low pressure (3 bars or line pressure, for example), until static pump pressure is applied to the brewing process. The goal of this continuous flow of water at a low pressure is to fully saturate the coffee puck prior to beginning the brewing process.
PRESSURE MANIPULATION
The Strada X uses independent group head pumps to fully manipulate brewing pressure between 0 and 12 bars using the paddle. This pressure manipulation is then pegged to the total espresso beverage weight to create a saved pressure profile for repeatability.
