Due to the current situation with the pandemic in South Africa – a launch event hasn’t been possible as of yet – but they can’t wait to welcome the public into the new space. Stay tuned for more details coming soon.
Though the South African team was present and co-sponsored Creative Coffee Week mid-September in Durban, South Africa. “We came, we drank coffee – we built community.”
The jam-packed 3-day industry and roaster-focused expo discussed topics (even the hardpressed) from across the coffee value chain – from sustainable farming practices, packaging, to ethical business practices.
The True Artisan Café poured some of the best coffee Durban had to offer over the course of the event, along with an event called “the Beat the Heat Single Group Smackdown” proving to be a huge hit with competitors and audience members alike. This year’s winner was Mel Winter of their local publication The Coffee Mag, he won La Marzocco merchandise as well as the rights to hold the illustrious “Beat The Heat Sword” until the next competition series.
“After nearly two years off, we couldn’t be happier to be back in a space where we can engage with our community and share our passion with old and new friends. We very much look forward to the next opportunity,” said La Marzocco South Africa brand manager Sinjon Wicks.
