World-renowned NBA superstar Jimmy Butler has been a buzz in the coffee community for the past year, with the creation of his coffee brand Big Face. Going live last week, the Big Face brand is aimed to teach mainstream consumers what top-tier specialty coffee is. Owner Jimmy Butler has dived into the world of coffee, and we are proud to say that La Marzocco has been there to encourage him and the Big Face Brand.
This summer the Big Face team and Jimmy traveled to our factory in Scarperia, Italy to La Marzocco headquarters and the Accademia del Caffe Espresso in Fiesole, Italy where they received an enormous welcome from our team. They took time to learn about our machines, history, coffee preparation methods, and coffee production.
At our production site, they spoke and built a Linea Mini with the people responsible for creating every La Marzocco Home machine. At the Accademia del Caffe Espresso they learned about coffee preparations, as Jimmy Butler attempted his first latte art creations with the aid of Nora Šmahelová, Coffee Education Leader at Accademia del Caffè Espresso.
Last year, while the NBA quaranteined together in the infamous NBA bubble in Walt Disney World, Jimmy sold coffee to his teammates, this was the seed that sparked his growing passion. In the current Big Face offerings, the “Go-Lab” includes a custom Linea Mini.
