1) La Marzocco's dual boiler technology ensures good
steam power whilst maintaining optimal brewing temperatures
Espresso coffee machines have two main functions:
brewing of espresso and steam production. A large draw on power
to produce steam can jeopardise the thermal stability in single-boiler
machines. This can mean over or under-extracted coffee.
La Marzocco has a dedicated boiler for each of these functions:
therefore it uses two boilers, completely separate one from the
other, so that they can both be working at the same time without
interfering with each other.
The coffee boiler contains a large quantity of water at an optimal
temperature, kept constantly under control by a precision thermostat
which ensures a maximum temperature variation between one coffee
and the next of less than ± 1° C, while other manufacturers'
machines with a single boiler rely on less suitable pressure
gauges to regulate even the most important parameter, the temperature.
Finally, among the La Marzocco machines, those with the PID
system ensure a temperature variation between one coffee and
the next of even less than ± 0.5° C, an out-and-out
record in the field. La Marzocco's steam boiler is also by far
more efficient given that it does not contain heat exchangers.
The steam pressure can, in fact, be adjusted at whatever level
required, without detracting from the coffee brewing temperature,
thus enabling the perfect preparation of milk-based drinks.
With La Marzocco thermal stability is
the rule, not the exception.
2) La Marzocco's brew heads are amongst the heaviest
on the market
A heavy group body ensures a
more stable thermal stability thanks to a greater inertial mass
and therefore a constant temperature of the water in coffee brewing.
The La Marzocco groups are made of stainless steel and welded
directly to the boiler, also made from stainless steel, and predisposed
to provide hot water solely for brewing coffee, the temperature
of which is controlled by means of a thermostat.
We call this technology saturated groups since the water in
the boiler and the water inside the brew groups are one-in-the-same.
Result: a constant extraction and dispensing temperature, shot
after shot.
3) Before leaving our factory each single machine has
to pass a 21-point bench test
Our specialised technicians inspect and carefully
check the main components and the equipment, fine-tuning the
machine and making sure that the product is in perfect condition,
ready to be installed directly at the client's premises, without
losing any more time in adjustments and trials.
4) When you buy a La Marzocco machine, the customer
is getting a great deal more!
Every La Marzocco machine is backed by an international
organisation that is committed to offering only the the best service
and technology possible.
One of the things that our company prides itself in is its ability
to satisfy the client and adapt to its needs.
Whether it's a question of personalising a machine or adding special
options, La Marzocco is up to the challenge - unfailing in its
commitment to continual research and the development of new products,
methods and solutions.
Understanding the client's needs has always been a key factor of
La Marzocco's success in over eighty years of business.
5) La Marzocco incorporates revolutionary discoveries such
as:
the dosing system using a programmable microprocessor;
automatic
filling of the boiler to maintain proper water level;
easy-to-read
sight glass for instant water level monitoring in the steam boiler
(Linea, FB/70)
a pre-heating system for incoming water into the coffee boiler
(only on some models);
the PID system (only on some models), which
constantly measures the brewing temperature and by means of an
algorithmic equation calculates the on-off cycles of the heating
element so as to maximise thermal stability.
6) The La Marzocco machines are fitted with back-up devices
which enable periodic servicing to be performed without interrupting normal
functioning
Clients often use these machines at high output:
extensive back-up and by-pass functions have been developed to avoid
costly periods of inactivity and to enable the technicians to check
and overhaul many of the primary functions without interrupting the
productivity of the machine.
The key back-up features included on our standard models are:
a mechanism
for the manual use of the brew group present on automatic machines
(AV),
manual filling of the boiler, and warnings for inadequate
in-line water flow or pressure on automatic dispensing and/or
imperfect functioning of the electric pump,
a diagnostic display
on models GB/5 and FB/80 for preventive maintenance warnings.
All this confirms La Marzocco's constant commitment to striving
for ever-improved reliability.
7) Omni-directional stainless steel steam wands offer the
baristas maximum flexibility
The steam wand on La Marzocco machines can be
oriented in any direction, adapting to the baristas' needs and helping
them to work more efficiently, maximising drink preparation.
All the wands are made from stainless steel, to enable scrupulous
cleaning and total observance of hygiene regulations.
8) La Marzocco espresso coffee machines are designed for
use with various sizes of cups
The designers, realising the demand for varied
volumes of drinks have added an option to the machine: a bigger space
between the brew group and the drip tray.
This means that the barista can dispense coffee directly into any size
of cup without having to adjust anything, no time is wasted.
9) Every La Marzocco espresso coffee machine has to meet
exacting certification standards, recognised by the most famous international
standards institutes
La Marzocco machines are covered by major certifications
standards including CE, cULus and NSF.
10) The last but most important reason for choosing
La Marzocco is its innate passion for good coffee handed down by its
founder to his successors, shared today by the designers, technicians,
skilled workers and all the collaborators, including the professional
baristas and the many fans of good espresso coffee who, thanks to La
Marzocco technology, are able to serve the best coffee.
The secret of success and the quality which differentiates La Marzocco
from the rest lies in this passion, that dates back to its origins in
1927.
